CEAQUA delegation returns to Argentina to testify on Franco's crimes

A new delegation travels to Argentina to appear before Judge María Servini, who is investigating Francoist crimes.

The hearings will take place between March 16 and 22

A delegation from the State Coordinator for Support of the Argentine Lawsuit (CEAQUA) She will be in Buenos Aires between March 16 and 22 to appear before the Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 1 of Buenos Aires and its head, Judge María Servini de Cubría.

At this time the Court continues its investigation in relation to the reported Francoist crimes in order to prove that they occurred in a context of systematic and widespread attack against sectors of the civilian population, including the political period of the Transition.

In this regard, the delegation's objective is to provide the Court with further documentary, expert, and testimonial evidence to strengthen the contextual element and, in turn, enable it to issue new charges against those responsible for committing crimes against humanity and to prosecute the former Francoist minister. Martín Villa, who remains charged in the Argentine lawsuit for twelve aggravated homicides (March 3, Gasteiz, San Fermín Festival of 1978, II Pro-Amnesty Week of Euskal Herria and the murder of Arturo Ruiz). Among those who will testify before the judge is the coordinator of Sira, Gabriela López Neyra, who will appear as an expert witness in the cases related to mistreatment and torture.
