On June 4th, the event "The intellectual work of Alberto Fernández Liria: rigor, ethics and social commitment" was held in the auditorium of the Ministry of Health, a meeting dedicated to recognizing the professional, intellectual and activist career of the psychiatrist Alberto Fernández Liria.
The event was opened by the Minister of Health, Mónica García, who highlighted the importance of Fernández Liria's contribution to the field of mental health.
Later, moderated by Pablo Fernández Cordón, a panel of colleagues from different stages of his career offered a diverse perspective on the psychiatrist's legacy, highlighting his ethical commitment, intellectual influence, and contributions to clinical practice, training, and community mental health. The event continued with a presentation by Alberto Fernández Liria himself, who outlined some of the main ideas of his forthcoming, as yet unpublished, work entitled "Dissidences in Psychiatry and Psychotherapies.".
The day concluded with a performance by pianist Celia de Andrés, which brought to a close a meeting marked by reflection, recognition and the exchange of experiences around one of the most influential figures in contemporary psychiatry and psychotherapy in Spain.
